Notre Dame University-Louaize North Lebanon Campus (NDU-NLC) clubs, in collaboration with NLC Public Relations Office and Faculty of Business Administration and Economics (FBAE) Assistant Elsie Kfoury Girgis, organized on Thursday, December 22, 2016, a special Christmas event, which was held from 12:15 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Amphitheatre.
NLC Director Fr. Samir Ghsoub delivered a succinct but rousing speech in which he talked about the Christmas spirit and thanked the event organizers as well as all staff and students for attending.
The event started with the Sport Club-sponsored Christmas Recital by the “NDU Got Talent” students who mesmerised the audience with their enchanting voices and took the event to a level beyond expectation.
Afterward, another amazing and perfectly synchronized show presented by ‘The Dragon Circus’ dazzled the audience of all ages and let their imagination run wild with unexpected spectacles, ranging from acrobatics and crazy bicycle stunts to awe-inspiring magic acts…
Also, the Architecture Club, My Club, Cut & Roll Club, and the Independent Club invited 60 orphans who were treated to a sumptuous lunch and given Christmas presents. The Free Will Club gave each orphan a hat and donated big boxes full of food and gadgets for the cleaning services. The Architecture Club fired up the atmosphere by selling Tombola tickets for a chance to win valuable gifts and many surprises. The Design Club was enthusiastic about refurbishing a home belonging to a family of eight children and their parents living in dire conditions, so their task was to renovate the house by Christmas.
The IEEE also got into the Christmas spirit for one week by playing Secret Santa with staff and instructors. The Discovery Club and the Interactive Club distributed to the audience candy, drinks, and Christmas sweets. Clothes and shoes donated by NDU community members were sorted and packed, and later distributed to needy families with the help of My Club, which also distributed cheese and wine at the fiesta.
For her part, Kfoury took the podium and invited faculty, coordinators, club presidents, and staff to celebrate by cutting a cake with Fr. Ghsoub. The celebration continued with a DJ spinning some tunes. Tombola winners were announced, and the event ended around 3:00 p.m. with three students receiving gifts offered by BankMed.
Wishing everyone involved a Merry Christmas and a successful New Year!
